DarTU Legal Aid Clinic is a fully registered legal aid service provider under the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs. It operates under the School of Law and Justice of Dar es salaam Tumaini University. The Legal Aid Clinic has two main objectives and these are social and educational. The social objective is focussed on the delivery of legal assistance and education to all persons in need of legal services but cannot afford the payments for such services. The educational objective is based on clinical legal education which allows students to get practical experience in providing legal aid in real cases under the guidance of lecturers who are also advocates. The Clinic provides legal support to indigent persons in both criminal (public litigation cases) and civil cases.
