Directorate of Quality Assurance and Quality Improvements (QAQI)

Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement (QAQI) is a directorate which supports implementation of external and internal quality assurance and improvement systems at DarTU. As custodian of quality at DarTU, the directorate is responsible for, among others, operationalisation of the university Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement system, providing technical support on quality assurance matters and ensuring compliance of quality assurance regulations and standards set by Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and other regulatory bodies ancillary to the education sector within and outside the country. Other responsibilities of the QAQI are to promote capacity building on quality assurance matters and create a sustainable quality improvement culture among DarTU stakeholders. Activities of the QAQI are guided by the University Quality Assurance Policy of 2014 as revised in 2023. The Directorate acts as an overseer of all academic and non–academic activities at the university to ensure their quality as per the DarTU’s Quality Assurance Policy, Rolling Strategic Plan, Charter and other pertinent documents. Other important documents in the mandate of the QAQI are Quality Assurance Manual, and Tools and Instruments for Evaluation of Quality.
