Welcome to the DarTU Website which has been recently populated with up to date information. The reader will find most and very useful information about DarTU on this website. The website design and contents reflect DarTU’s commitment to achieving vibrancy and dynamism in carrying out its key processes, and to excellence and competitiveness of its deliverables to stakeholders. Through its Rolling Strategic Plan (RSP) 2024-2029, DarTU seeks to develop three distinguishing characteristics among higher learning institutions in Tanzania. First, DarTU wishes to distinguish itself as an institution “Where Morals, Positive Mindset and Attitudes are Inculcated for Assured Students Learning and Responsible Citizenry”. Second, delivery of innovation and entrepreneurship is adopted as a cross-cutting course designed to enhance job creation, self-employment and problem solving capabilities among DarTU students and graduates. And, the third characteristic is promotion and development of competitiveness mindset among staff and students. DarTU is aware that the World is currently in the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR otherwise known as Industry 4.0), a digital era characterized by, among other things; artificial intelligence, internet of things and internet of everything, and the computer increasingly performing cognitive tasks. Industry 4.0 will fundamentally alter the way people live, work, and relate to one another. Considering the scale, scope, and complexity of Industry 4.0, the response to it must be integrated and comprehensive, involving all stakeholders of the global polity. Thus, for DarTU to remain relevant and an effective player in the higher education industry, and especially so even in the face of the incipient 4IR, it has to initiate an adaptation process by putting in place a mechanism for quick adaptation, develop correspondingly new programmes, and develop the capacity to deliver such programmes.
