ABOUT US
DarTU Legal Aid Clinic is a dully registered legal aid service provider under the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs. It operates under the School of Law and Justice, Dar es Salaam Tumaini University. The Legal Aid Clinic is engulfed with two main objectives, the social and educational. The social objective consists of delivery of legal assistance and education to all persons in need of the service but cannot afford to pay them. Educational objective is based on clinical legal education which allows students to get practical experience in providing legal aid on real cases under the guidance and teaching of supervising lecturer attorneys. The Clinic provides legal support to indigent persons in both criminal (public litigation cases) and civil cases.
